Here’s a question for you: when are lemons best to eat?
Their official harvest season is late winter and early spring, but do you think of lemons as a summer fruit?
What we’re getting at is … is Lilly the Lemonhead cookie right for your winter wedding?? Discuss. (We say yes, of course!)
Bon Appetit magazine agrees, sometimes wedding cake is over-priced and just plain boring!
We were happy to see they’re as into the idea of a cookie-replacement as we are … cookie ice cream sandwiches at that!
All right! First up in our showcase of extraordinary Utah bridal vendors is Blooms and Blossoms. From the start, we knew this local floral business had an adorable name, and upon witnessing the work first-hand at the Women in Weddings luncheon, we realized Blooms and Blossoms also packed in mega talent.
At the luncheon, the floral arrangements combined the modern look of wild flowers and with the traditional look of roses in a way we had never before seen — and it definitely caught out attention!
And after checking out the Web site, it’s confirmed that Blooms and Blossoms has a real knack for not just bridal and wedding party bouquets, but innovative party decor and everything in between.

We attended the Women in Weddings luncheon yesterday and met so many wedding-savvy, cool ladies! The entire event felt like we were attending a wedding reception ourselves, and — since we can’t get enough of weddings — we loved it!
From the to-die-for raspberry cupcakes and homemade jam favors to the darling photo booth, this was a day full of inspiration.
One of our favorite moments was hearing Val Rasmussen, editor at Utah Bride & Groom, tell all the ins and outs of working at Utah’s biggest bridal magazine.
Look back on our blog for more features of all of the talented vendors we met!
We are pleased to be attending Utah’s Women in Weddings luncheon next week! We hope to come back with all kinds of new wedding friends with an assortment of talents to make your wedding fabulous! We’ll keep you updated on the cool ladies we meet!

Our local RubySnap fans are familiar with RubySnap’s unique Salt Lake City storefront spot: a somewhat industrial area with auto body shops for neighbors is not the typical space for a cute cookie shop! But it turns out RubySnap’s location fits our style just right. The retro vibe of our store goes along perfectly with the cool cars we see come in and out of our neighboring auto body shops, and auto body shop men make for perfect hungry cookie clients!
This fun pairing of cool cars, cool style and weddings was recently captured by Andrea Hanks, one of our featured photographers! Naturally, we were giddy just browsing through these posts, thinking of the fun that could be had at a wedding with a a pretty bride, a sweet ride and even sweeter cookies! Check out Andrea’s blog for more photos of this wedding idea from RubySnap heaven.
Meet Sarah Wilkes, a Salt Lake City local photographer responsible for our August photo of the month!
Shot by Sarah, the model above represents our Sandy cookie, a fresh zucchini, macadamia nut and milk chocolate cookie that is not too sweet, and perfect for a late summer evening treat!
Photographer Sarah Wilkes does a beautiful job capturing weddings, so look her up for your special day!
As much as we wish we could say it isn’t so, no diet can consist of sugary sweets alone. And although we think every wedding should include some RubySnap cookies, you just might want some other goodies to munch on too. Goodies of the non-sugar type!
We love the idea of a kick-back BBQ wedding with a classy twist. From cutesy corn on the cob to prettily-presented hot dogs, you can pull off any food at your wedding, if you serve it up just the right way!
There’s nothing more all-American than a hot dog, so consider taking this fun route at your wedding reception!
